Heat transfer is a decoration technique by which images are transferred to a variety of surfaces without inks or screens. Artwork is converted to a digital file, and a four-color process printer prints the art on a vinyl medium, creating transfers. The transfers are applied to fabrics using a temperature-controlled heat press. Stock vinyl materials are also used with cutting software allowing personalization of garments
